Community Service (Service as Action)

IB learners strive to be caring members of the community who demonstrate a commitment to service, making a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. There are numerous Community & Service opportunities for our students each year.  Several of these opportunities will be organized, school-wide projects like working in the warehouse  at Second Harvest Food Bank. Students may also choose to initiate individual or small group projects of their own; for example, in recent years, West End students have organized fundraisers to support the Water Project and Turner Syndrome research.

Actively contributing to the community encourages our students to become aware of the world around them.   With this sense of community awareness they will venture out into the world as responsible citizens seeking to make an effective contribution to society.
