Schoology is the district’s learning management system. During virtual learning, everything that normally takes place inside a classroom at West End will happen on the Schoology website or app. Schoology is where teachers will take attendance, provide instruction and feedback, and give tests.
For the best experience, students should go to the Schoology website, mnps.schoology.com. There is also a Schoology app, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is also available for Kindle Fire devices.
Here’s how to log in to Schoology:
Username: first name (lowercase) + first letter of last name (lowercase) + last 5 digits of student ID #
(Tip: Student ID#, or “190 number,” can be found on an old report card.)
Password: First Letter of First Name (UPPERCASE) + first letter of last name (lowercase) + birth date (mmddyy format)
So, for example, student John Brown with student ID #190012345 and birthday on March 8, 2009 would log in like this:
Password Reset: If you still cannot log in, ask for a password reset. Email email@example.com. Make sure to include full name, student id#, and school name.
Parents can sign up for their own Schoology account. Note that that some things the student sees on Schoology are not available by default using a parent account. Talk to your child’s teacher(s) about additional access.
1. Request a Parent Access Code from any of your child’s teachers.
2. Go to www.schoology.com.
2. Click Sign Up at the top of the page and and choose Parent.
3. Enter your Parent Access Code. This is the 12-digit code in xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format you received from one of your child’s teachers.
4. Fill out the form with your information.
5. Click Register to complete.
When you use a Parent Access Code to create an account, you are automatically associated to your child. You can add additional children to your account using the Add Child button.
Note: Parent Access Codes are unique to each student, but can be used to make multiple parent accounts.
